** Between the House of Yes and our friends the Love Show and Vertical Aerial Arts there are THREE different Christmas shows happening this season. We have deliberated, sliced, diced, analyzed, probed, and dissected the sh*t out of this holiday. Yet the deeper we dig, the more allusive the *true* meaning of Christmas becomes. We have 2 free tickets to the House of Yes Xmas Spectacular for whoever gets to the bottom of this! On your mark, get set, GO!

The Communication Corporation is a musical organisation providing the common American with uncontrollable movements in the pants/skirt area. As a business, they have successfully harnessed the power of a distorted keytar, bass and drums to combine them into a devastating sonic dance party machine. As a unique live show, they bring performances that utilize black-light costumes, aerialists, lasers, sweat and more. Based on other business models such as The Talking Heads, Gogol Bordello, Beck, and Muse, The Communication Corporation write finely crafted synth rock about love, war, politics and shaking it to the left and right.

Dance Mayhem: A Grindhouse Ballet
Disfigurement by acid! Orgy-inducing drugs! Ill-fated lady lovers! Dirty cops busting girl gangs! For those who like their ballet gritty and seamy and lovers of the pulpy grindhouse cinema aesthetic, Dance Mayhem: Grindhouse Ballet — an action-packed yet Lynchian cautionary parable of nightlife excess — has everything (including a soundtrack studded with the likes of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Gil Scott Heron, James Brown and Tom Jones). The one thing it didn’t have was the chance to wow audiences at Halloween, when it became one of Sandy’s many cultural casualties. Luckily, it’ll get a second chance with two nights at Theater 80 on November 29 and 30. The deliciously dark world created by The Love Show’s Angela Harriell, whose Nutcracker: Rated R has become a downtown holiday institution, is a sure antidote to warm-and-fuzzy holiday fare.
Combining the ballet and jazz infused choreography of underground favorite Angela Harriell with the pop and lock b-boy style of street dancer Nobuya Nagahama, Dance Mayhem tells the tale of a louche nightclub, owned by a beautiful yet ruthless drug dealer who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and the man she pushes one step too far.
Directed & Choreographed byAngela Harriell. Additional Choreography by Nobuya Nagahama
Featuring: Dorian Cervantes, Duane Gosa, Angela Harriell, Atsunori Hayamizu, Miku Kawa, Rachael Ma, Takushi Minami, Nobuya Nagahama, Toshihiko Nakazawa, Tsubasa Ogawa, Julie Megan Smith
